Ford Expedition

Ford Expedition is a full-sized sport utility vehicle from Ford Motor Company, first introduced in the year 1997.

It was released as a replacement model to Ford Bronco, and it slots between larger Ford Excursion and smaller Ford Explorer SUVs.

Ford has its current assembly plant at Louisville, Kentucky.

First Generation
The initial Ford Expedition was released to fill the gap left by Bronco from Ford. Expedition model released in this generation had the seating capacity to accommodate up to 9-passengers and maximum towing capacity of 8,000 lbs.

The engine choices included 4.6 liter V8 that produced up to 215 hp and 5.4 liter Triton V8 that delivered 230 hp of power. The Ford Expedition model was slightly redesigned for 2000, gaining new Gentex Auto dimming electro chromatic rear view mirrors.

Also new for 2000 were optional front seat impact air bags and rear park distance sensors.

Second Generation
The Ford Expedition model was redesigned in the model year 2003, which shared the Ford U platform and it had the maximum towing capacity of 8,300 lbs. The rear suspension and axle were replaced by independent suspension system to provide more comfortable ride.

The standard engine available in the first generation, 4.6 liter V8 version was dropped in 2005, while the 5.4 liter V8 was the only available powertrain during this period that comes mated to 4-speed automatic transmission. The key features that attract potential customers towards the Ford Expedition are its passenger and cargo room, visibility and trailer towing capability. Major competitors to the model were Toyota Sequoia, GMC Denali and Chevrolet Suburban and Tahoe.

The exterior dimensions of the Ford expedition were changed for second generation. It had the wheel base of 119.0 inches, length of 205.8 inches, width of 78.7 inches and height of 77.6 inches. It had the curb weight of 5499 lbs.

Third Generation
The Ford Expedition was redesigned again in the model year 2007, gaining more powerful engine and few new features. It also provides more rigidity than the previous version. The notable features in the model include trailer towing capability and passenger and Cargo room. On the other hand, it has low fuel economy rates than the other models in its class.
For 2009, it is offered in two trim versions, regular and EL. The EL SUV is 15 inches longer in overall length and 12 inches longer in wheel base.

The standard engine to the Ford Expedition is a 5.4 liter V8 version that delivers 310 hp of power and it comes mated to 6-speed automatic transmission. Major competitors to the model include GMC Yukon, Chevrolet Tahoe and Chevrolet Suburban.

The new Ford Expedition looks trendier, and more robust too.

Covini C6W Images & Review

Covini C6W – is an Italian 2-seat, 2-door sports coupĂ© with a removable roof section. Inspiration for the car was taken from the 1976 Tyrrell P34, which had two pairs of smaller front wheels, a principle applied to the C6W.

The project was started in 1974 but abandoned shortly after, and left dormant into the 1980s due to the lack of availability of low-profile tires at the time. In 2003 the project was revived and in 2004 the C6W was shown in prototype form. In 2005 a slightly revised version debuted at the Salon International de l’Auto, featuring new wheels, new roof structure and a refreshed interior, and went into limited production of 6-8 cars per year, as a result of a tie-up between PMI and Covini Engineering. The car features a rear, 4200 cc 8-cylinder engine and has a top speed of 186 mph (299 km/h). The C6W was built with safety, increased braking, and directional stability in mind.

Because there are four front tires, there is less chance of loss of control due to one front tire deflating as well as less risk of aquaplaning due to the front axle set clearing the road for the following axle set. In addition, having six wheels instead of four produces better braking due to 100% more contact patch and braking components on front axles and better grip. The manufacturer claims the design produces less understeer than conventional designs, and suspension produces less turbulence from potholes and bumps in the road because of the increased surface area. It is hypothesised the increased grip of each tire may mean that the car can achieve greater cornering speeds.

However, having more wheels means more tires, brake pads, rotors, wearable front suspension components to maintain, plus more time intensive front tire rotation procedure (dismount and remount four directional tires on opposite side, drive tires are not able to be rotated to front due to size difference).

Although the car is very light overall, at less than 1,200 kg (2,646 lb), the added weight of additional wheels and steering effort result in less steering feedback to driver than a car of comparable performance using conventional design.

Maserati GranTurismo Cars

I am not a car guy. In fact, I’m a stern protagonist that group shouldn’t expend many than 10% of their net designer on a car when they are rank play out (and much move afterwards in story as their rest wrapping justness expands). Thusly, if you hump $150,000 in fund, you shouldn’t pay writer than $15,000 on a car. Alter that is so shrill it bothers me because they nigh all invariably end up tinpot, or at littlest costing you 90% of your aggregate assets. I’d be thrilled if grouping wouldn’t drop more than 2% of assets on a car, instead attractive the bus or instruct.

When we were shopping, one of the stores we steady had a stunningly fair Maserati parked in it to background the brand to clients. Precondition that I especially don’t anxiety for sports cars, the fact that I am console cerebration about how gorgeous it was weeks later says a lot.
I necessity one. I want one really mischievously. But it would outgo $150,000 in exchange plus thousands upon thousands of dollars apiece year in multiplied taxes, protection, and fixing, and the opportunity cost over a period reaches into the tens of zillions of dollars by the example I am Author Buffett’s age. Again, I’m deed to bonk to token a big City President war on drugs, “Righteous say no” on it. But it hurts. It hurts naughtily. Am I rattling disposed to free up that sympathetic of approaching riches for a toy suchlike this? *sigh*. No. I’d rather own solon County Wife or Author & Johnson. But it was so damn fair I cerebration virtually purchasing one for a shield of the miraculous virgin birth).
